About Wayne County Court Docket

Wayne County court information is held in separate court systems, not one countywide case file. This private reference resource explains the public routes for Third Circuit, district, and probate matters so readers can begin with the court that maintains the record.

Why We Built This Site

A Wayne County case may be held by the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan, one of the county's district courts, or the Wayne County Probate Court. The Wayne County Clerk is the keeper of Third Circuit records, while Probate has its own clerk and records channels and each district court maintains its own original local files. A county name alone does not identify the correct record custodian.

MiCOURT Case Search is a public Michigan search starting point for participating courts, and the Third Circuit provides Odyssey Public Access for its public case information. Those results can help identify a case or register entry, but an OPA result is unofficial and neither system replaces a clerk-issued record, a complete case file, or a certified copy. This site gathers those routing distinctions in one place without operating a docket system.

What You Will Find Here

The material is organized around the practical distinction between a public search result and the court or clerk that keeps the official Wayne County file.

  • Criminal and civil routes: Wayne County guidance for criminal court dockets and civil court dockets, including the difference between district and Third Circuit records.
  • Hearing information: ways to read the court schedule, locate a setting, and confirm it with the holding court.
  • Public search steps: use of a docket search by court, party name, or case number, with limits of public results noted.
  • Record requests: routes for court case records, inspection, copies, certification, and the separation of Third Circuit and probate records.
  • Traffic routing: court-specific context for a citation, payment path, or hearing through traffic court.

What We Cannot Do

Wayne County Court Docket is a privately operated reference site. It has no connection to the Wayne County Clerk, the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan, a district court, the Probate Court, or another government agency, and it cannot act for any of them.

  • It cannot retrieve an official court file, Register of Actions, or certified document.
  • It cannot schedule, change, cancel, or verify a hearing for a particular case.
  • It cannot file a document through MiFILE/TrueFiling, submit an ePraecipe, or accept a court payment.
  • It cannot amend, remove, seal, or decide access to a case record.
  • It cannot provide legal advice or interpret the effect of an order, charge, or deadline.
  • It cannot guarantee that an office's current hours, fee, address, calendar, or public portal display has not changed.

Only the court or clerk that maintains a Wayne County case can determine public access, confirm a current setting, or provide an official or certified court record.

Search Partners

Some content pages include search tools supplied by third parties. Their providers control the search service, its terms, availability, prices, and results. A paid enrollment through one of those services may create a referral fee for this site. That relationship does not make a third-party result an official Wayne County or Michigan court record, and the result should be verified with the court or clerk that keeps the case.
